Starting his career at the age of 5, after having reached the pinnacle of the musical world as an instrumentalist, Maxim Vengerov turned his attention to conducting and brought his sensitivity and keen musicianship to the podium. At the concert Vengerov will be directing Poland's internationally recognized orchestra Sinfonia Varsovia. For them the pianist Martha Argerich noted "they are wonderful, they are one of the best orchestras, not only in Poland. First class" and renowned violin virtuoso and conductor Yehudi Menuhin said "Work with no other orchestra gave me so much satisfaction as my work - as soloist and conductor -with Sinfonia Varsovia". The soloist of the concert is another virtuoso of the violin, the French Renaud Capuçon. The experienced violinist's several recordings received prestigious awards including Grand Prix Académie Charles Cros, Choc de la Musique, Diapason d'Or, Fonoforum/Sterne des Monates. In the evening Reanud Capuçon will perform Tchaikovsky's famous violin concerto and Vengerov's interpretation of the composer's "Pathétique" symphony will take you to another world as you listen to it.
